Welcome to my Crafting World!

Hi! My name is Maria, I am 34 years old and I'm a certified Craft-a-holic! LOL. I make different kinds of projects from Cards (which is my favourite), Art Tags, Mini Albums, Jewelries, Candles, Party Favours etc...

I've created this blog to share my projects and ideas to everyone who loves to craft.

Being a Certified Craft-A-Holic, you would expect to see me creating 3-4 projects simultaneously in one night. But of course, I don't finish them all in one night, esp. when I am doing a project that involves Mixed Media. I don't use a heat tool to dry my mixed media projects, as it ruins the project. Using a heat tool to dry your projects, tends to create a lot of air bubbles on the projects, which doesn't look nice. I find air dried projects to be more studier. It also give the project a neater look.

I craft every night, I would make one finished Card, one unfinished Album (which I do finish later on, after the drying when I am using Mod Podge or after cutting all the fussy cuts) and one unfinished Mixed Media Project (which I do finish later on, after the drying or so). Then the next night I will continue doing my Album to try and finish it (depends also if I am still using Mod Podge), then my Mixed Media (depends if I still need to use other Wet Medium) and another Card or I will go and jump on my fourth project. Believe me, I have a lot of projects in mind all the time. What I always do is Sketch or Write down my projects using my Phone, so that I won't forget it. I am not good in drawing I just Doodle it. LOL. If crafting is an Office Job, I will be very happy to go to my workplace everyday. I usually craft at night, due to the fact that I am a stay-at-home mom and I have an almost 2 year old son who loves to craft with me. Believe it or not, he does the Mod Podging for my projects, of course with my guidance, and some paintings too. But since I'm a confessed Craft-a-holic, I try to finish every house chores in the morning before my son comes back from the Nursery so I can craft! I take advantage of watching TV with my husband and with my son by fussy cutting while watching and I also take advantage of texturing or gluing onmy projects while cooking. "Imagine your life with me, if I'm your wife! LOL". But nonetheless. I don't forget my Duties as a Wife and a Mom. I see to it that everything is in order everyday before I craft, food is ready, house is clean and my son is well fed. Playtime with my son is crafting with him, so I don't have a problem at all, because he enjoys it, or I take him out, which he loves to do as well.

I hope you all will enjoy my posts. Please do leave a comment, follow me or add me to your circle.

Happy Crafting!

RUSTIC ROSE INVITATION AND FAVOR BAG

Good day Crafters!

I hope everyone is having a blast today.  Today I want to share a a wedding invitation and party favor bag set.  I have designed an invitation insert and frame tag using Adobe Illustrator and created a cover for it.  I also have made a favor bag that will coordinate with it.

The dies that I've used in creation the cover and the party favor bag are all intricate roses designs from different die manufacturers (see materials used).

So here's a glimpse of what I've made.  I also made a video tutorial, but unfortunately when I was assembling the favor bag, I didn't realized that my video cam was not doing the shoot, so pardon me for that.  I just included a link on how to assemble the bag from tonic studios.

Prima Princess Natalie - Art Journal Page

Good day Crafters!

Recently I'm so addicted to Prima Princess Stamps, and I started making an Art Journal using the Prima Princess Stamps.  Today, I want to share the first Art Journal I've made using Prima Princess Natalie.
Vintage Journal Page featuring Prima - Princess Natalie Stamp.

I started of by watercoloring the background using tim holtz distress inpads:  Old Paper, Tea Dye and Antique Linen.

Water Color with Distress Inkpads

Then I did some distressing and stenciling using distress inkpad vintage photo and stencil gothic (also from ranger, designed by tim holtz.

Distressed Edges and Stenciled

Then I started stamping it all over using Memento Expresso Truffle inkpad and assorted stamps from ranger (designed by tim holtz) and Hampton Art.  Sorry I won't be able to write down all the stamps name, as I don't have the names with me anymore, and I can't remember what they're called, but Im 100% sure that I used ranger stamps (designed by tim holtz) and hampton stamps.

Background Stamping

Then I stamped Prima Princess Natalie on the corner of my journal page and stamped another one on a separate cardstock, colored it with distress inkpads, cut it off, edge it with distress marker and lastly I stick it on top my my stamp image on my journal page using a gel medium.

Cut out over stamped image

Then I did a little bit more of stamping using Prima Princess Natalie Stamp (just the floral part) and a ranger eiffel tower stamp (designed by tim holtz).  I colored the stamped and image and finished it off with a gel matte medium.

Finished Project

MATERIALS USED:
  • Prima - Princess Natalie Stamp
  • Distress Inkpads:  Old Paper, Tea Dye, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Dusty Concord, Victorian Velvet, Fired Brick, Mermaid Lagoon, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Picket Fence and Broken China.
  • Distress Marker - Vintage Photo
  • Assorted Stamps from Ranger (designed by Tim Holtz) and Hampton Art Stamps
  • Ranger - Gel Medium Matte

Hope you all enjoyed it!

Happy Crafting!

Prima Princess Claire Tag using Distress Inkpads and Distress Oxides

PRIMA - PRINCESS CLAIRE LARGE TAG
Using Distress Oxides (Tag) and Distress Inkpads (coloring Princess Claire).

Good day Crafters!

Oh yea I know, I know!  Its been a long time...  hahahaha..  I really don't get any time to blog anymore, nor do I get any time to create, all because I have a growing toddler who loves to be around me 24/7.  Well anyway, today I sneaked out, since my husband is at home right now, I see to it that I finish a tag and I do my blog!  Yes Finally!!!!  So here it goes.....

Prima recently released their new line of stamps called the princess stamps, and I instantly fell in love with them and played with them.  I started by stamping the image of Prima Princess Claire twice using my Hampton stamp tool.  Oh yes! I did stamp the image twice, as I notice if I stamped it once since the design is very intricate, the lines are not that visible, so I have to stamp it twice using my Memento Expresso Inkpad.  And then I color it using my distress inkpads like so...

I also used some perfect pearls to glimmer some spots in my image then I cut them out.  I did some layerings on my other cut outs as you can see in the picture above.  Then glued them into my distressed tag (I used distress oxide and distress ink in making the tag).

Unfortunately things did not end well for me, because my son sneaked into my craft room and unfortunate thing happened on the neckline of my Princess Claire.  So I ended up doing a bit of a remedy, because retouching it won't work, since I already sealed the stamped image with a matte gel.  I just went on and played with it. LUCKILY!  It ended up like so...

MATERIALS USED:
  • Mixed Media Cardstock
  • Ranger - Distress Inkpads (Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Mustard Seed, Squeeze Lemonade, Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Picket Fence, Tea Dye, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, Barn Door, Twisted Citron, Dusty Concord, Spiced Marmalade, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen)
  • Ranger - Distress Oxides (Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, Fossilized Amber)
  • Ranger - Perfect Pearls (Blue Raspberry, Pink Gumball, Forever Green, Grape Fizz, Perfect Pearl)
  • Studio G - Glitter Glue
  • Water brush
  • Twine
  • Cheese Cloth
  • Eyelet

Hope You all Enjoy It!!!

HAPPY CRAFTING!!
